Scared

1 Apr

Dad’s in bypass surgery right now.

This is one of the moments that doesn’t strike you as being possible until you’ve reached a certain age – when you’ve married, had kids, gotten through the hard part of having toddlers and things are fantastic.  Life is easier,  the family is thriving,  the future’s bright and it really feels like you’re  hitting your
stride.

Now I wish I could just roll the clock back.

Life = death; sad we can’t have one without the other. I’ll take your bypass, and raise you an Alzheimer’s. But, first: prayers for Dad.

He came through surgery yesterday day just fine. I’m sitting with him now, about 30 min after they moved him out of ICU. Thank you all for the well wishes.

Really glad to hear he pulled through! I know what you mean about getting to that certain age. I’m there too and dealing with the same troubles and sitting by bedsides. Knowing it’s invevitable and a part of life is zero comfort when it’s your Dad. I hope he recovers without a hitch.
